Vh1 Australia was after a re-branding for their cable channel that apealed to their target Audience of mid 20's to 40's male viewers.
The content of the station is mostly "retro" classics, ranging from the 70's to the 90's, so we need to come up with an idea that was both representative of the station, and apealing to the audience.
The first element that came to mind for the subject, that also represented tim ethat passed trough those eras, was the media that, at the consumer level, changed from one format to another, roughly decades apart.
For the 70's we chose Vinyl |

LPs, for the 80's it was Cassettes, for the 90's it was CD's.
The animation was carried out at the LaB, with the shoots done on location at "Pigeon ground" in Stanmore, then composited at the Lab.
My role was coming up with the concept, and then seeing the designs through to finish. It was an entire channel re-brand done in 6 weeks, including the shoot and all the 3D, the team that worked on the project were small but fast, and were able to create an the entire consistent package that looked great well within time. |
